Contest Scoring
Entrants’ stables must consist of 10 horses nominated to the 2008 Little Brown Jug, along with 2 drivers and 2 trainers. Horses, drivers and trainers must be selected from official game lists.
Entrant will activate 5 horses from their 10-horse stable before each contest race (a schedule of contest races may be viewed by clicking here). Only horses that are given “active” status will be eligible to score points. The time period available for activating horses is listed next to the race. During the lockdown period before the race, changes cannot be made to the “active” list.
After a race has been completed, players can again change the active status of the horses in their stable beginning at 12:01 a.m. EDT the following day.
You will be able to replace up to 2 horses in your stable, plus 1 driver and 1 trainer, during each of the contest’s 2 supplemental draft periods. The draft periods are outlined below:
First draft period: July 20-11:59 p.m. July 30 Second draft period: Sept. 2-11:59 pm Sept. 5 (Note: At this time, if the Cane Pace winner is not eligible to the Little Brown Jug, he will be made available as a horse for selection.)
Each stable will be awarded points as follows when their “active” horses finish 1-2-3-4-5 in all contest races except the final and deciding heat of the Little Brown Jug:
1st 50 points 2nd 25 points 3rd 12 points 4th 8 points 5th 5 points
In the event of a dead heat for the 1 through 5 finishers, the official order of finish will be used to determine points.
Points for selected drivers and trainers are awarded for win only using the same point number awarded winning horses.
The winner of the final and deciding heat of the Little Brown Jug will be awarded 250 points. Note: Points are not rewarded to the driver and trainer who win the Little Brown Jug final—only the horse.
